What we do
We are a career and entrepreneurial events brand that caters to the creative industries. We host themed networking events and business masterclasses for those who want to progress within the creative industries or want to grow as a business owner or entrepreneur.
We cater to three divisions: educational establishments, creatives who are employed, freelance or business owners/entrepreneurs and female empowerment.
University students and alumni
We host events for university students and alumni to help kickstart their career in the creative industry. University educators do a fantastic job in educating their students. However, we have recognised that the path to a thriving career in the creative sector is not straightforward. It also isn't always heavily reliant on a degree or qualification. Yes, in some instances a degree is beneficial. However, many creative roles are dependent on direct experience and who you know and how good you are at networking.
We work with universities to create an environment where students and alumni can be placed in the best position where they can be fully informed of the industry they're interested in and be able to put their best foot forward and bag their dream job.
Each of our events are welcomed by an array of speakers and hosts who have a substantial level of experience working in the creative sector. Previous speakers have worked on television shows for ITV, Channel 4 and the BBC, recruited TV talent, worked in PR for celebrities like Mariah Carey and worked in fashion for brands including Asos and Nike.
Hey, I'm Hetty and I'm the founder and managing director of CreatOurs. My background is mostly from working in the television production, development and digital industries. I started my career by working in TV production on shows such as, The Only Way Is Essex, ITVbe, Made in Chelsea, E4 and Large Family Values, Channel 5. I have been part of TV development departments pitching new programme ideas to major terrestrial channels, including Channel 4, MTV, BBC One and ITV1. I currently work in digital and branded content.
I started this company as I realised how difficult it was to gain consistent work and network with other creatives in the industry. It took me a long time to 'get my break' working in the television sector because I didn't have the knowledge that I have now and I didn't know anyone who was already working in the field.
When I graduated from an undergraduate degree, I sought advice from career advisors. However, as helpful as they were, they didn't have extensive knowledge of the sector.
There isn't necessarily a conventional way of working in certain creative industries and that's why CreatOurs exists. We aim to bridge the gap between creatives and employers thus making it easier for them to create opportunities and progress within their career. We also provide the platform for creative business owners and entrepreneurs to expand their businesses and learn valuable steps to take their brand to a whole other level.
We enable creatives to meet successful professionals and high profile individuals that could help take their career to new heights.
